One Day National Workshop on National Building Code of India 2016: Glass and Glazing Aspects, Bengaluru

In continuation to the grand success of the two One day National Workshops on 'National Building Code 2016: Glass and Glazing Aspects' held in Mumbai and New Delhi, Glazing Society of India (GSI), jointly with Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) and Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IITM) organized with the third edition of the One day National Workshop in Bengaluru on 28th June 2019 (Friday) at Ramaiah Institute of Technology. The Workshop is supported by the entire Glass and Glazing Fraternity including AIGMF, FOSG, CCPS, Glass Academy, UWDMA and IFF.  

The gathering was welcomed by Mr G N Gohul Deepak, Director, Glazing Society of India. Ms A Geetha, Joint Director, Town and Country Planning, Technical Cell, Urban Development department, Govt of Karnataka; Mr. S Arun Kumar, Scientist D, Civil Engineering Department, Bureau of Indian Standards and Ms Jessy Benny, Head BBO, BIS delivered the Chief Guest, Program Objective and keynote address respectively. The vote of thanks was delivered by Mr Omkar Powar, Research Scholar, Structural Engineering, IIT Madras. 

The workshop comprised of 3 technical sessions addressed by experts from BIS, industry and the academia. The expert speakers include Mr S Arun Kumar (BIS), Prof Monto Mani, Member, Panel for Sustainability of NBC 2016, Mr Sandeep Goel, Member, Panel for Fire Protection of NBC 2016, Mr Omkar Powar, Research Scholar, Indian Institute of Technology Madras, Mr Antony John, Member, Panel for Glass and Glazing of NBC 2016 and Mr Sharanjit Singh, Member, Glass, Glassware and Laboratoryware, Technical Committee of BIS. 

The audience comprised of over 210 delegates including Architects, Civil Engineers, Builders, Developers, Consultants, Contractors, Glass Processors, Manufacturers, Govt Officials and other professionals. The third workshop on NBC:2016 Glass and Glazing aspects successfully concluded with excellent feedback from the participants.
